Rooney admits nicking Stereophonics top

Wayne Rooney reportedly stole a hoodie from the Stereophonics when he attended one of their gigs.

The Manchester United player, who has gone on to become best friends with frontman Kelly Jones, told Q that he was just 15 when he carried out the theft.

"I just saw a pile of jumpers on the floor and no one was around so I thought I'd just take one. I didn't see anyone there... They were on the floor," the 24-year-old said.

Jones, who played at Rooney's 2008 marriage to Coleen, described the striker as "a shy boy", adding: "He's followed us around since he was 14."
