Mel C's Brits anger
Published Monday, Mar 14 2005, 09:52 GMT | By Daniel Saney
Mel C has complained that the Spice Girls were snubbed at the 25th annual Brit Awards.
While the anniversary celebrations saw Robbie Williams walk off with the prize for Best Song of the last 25 years, Sporty Spice reckons that her old band deserved some recognition as they raised the profile of British pop abroad during the 1990s.
Frustrated Mel told The Sun: "I feel there should have been some recognition for the Spice Girls.
"We flew the flag for Britain around the world in the '90s and we achieved a hell of a lot.
"I don't think the Spice Girls are celebrated as much as we should be. We championed British pop worldwide."
Mel's third solo album, Beautiful Intentions, is due for release next month.
