Shane Filan welcomes third child

Shane Filan has become a father for the third time.

The Westlife star welcomed his new son Shane Peter on Friday evening after his wife Gillian was rushed to hospital, the Irish Independent says.

"Shane and Gillian are over the moon with their new arrival," a source said. "They're thrilled it's a boy and have decided to call him after his dad, which Shane is chuffed about.

"Both mum and baby are doing great, although it was a last-minute dash to get to the hospital."

The couple already have two children, Nicole, 4, and Patrick, 1.
