The Colour Me Free! star reportedly lost out on £1m last year after walking away from her contract with EMI, following disputes with the label for repeatedly delaying the release of her latest album.
However, the 22-year-old said that she still stands by her decision.
"It's just money," Stone told You magazine. "I've been in this business long enough now to work out what's important and what's not. The music business has changed so much. It's all about product and business."
She continued: "I was talking to Roger Daltrey the other day and he told me he felt so sorry for my generation of musicians. He said, 'When I was your age all we did was get on a stage and sing, now you all have to sit in meetings. That's not music'."
Stone added: "It's true - that's about money. I don't care about money. As long as I have enough to live on I'm happy. I don't need a Learjet to prove I can sing."
