Carter blames Hilton for drink driving

Friends of Nick Carter claim that his split from Paris Hilton has driven him to drink, reports FemaleFirst.co.uk.

Carter, who split with the hotel heiress last year amid claims that he had hit her, was arrested for drink driving last week after allegedly turning to the bottle for solace in the aftermath of the break-up.

The website quotes a friend of the former Backstreet Boy as saying: "He still hasn't got over her. He begged her to get back together but she wanted to continue playing the field."

Carter stands to receive a $1,500 fine and restrictions on his licence. He is scheduled to attend an arraignment on April 13.
