According to Entertainment Tonight, the singer has joined forces with friends CaCee Cobb, Ken Paves and charity Soles4Souls to help achieve the target.
They are aiming to gather 50,000 pairs of shoes in 50 days.
In a video posted on the campaign's website, Simpson said: "Let's all do everything we can for the tragedy in Haiti."
Paves added that Soles4Souls had already given over one million pairs of shoes to people who have lost everything in the quake and that $5 can buy two pairs.
The website claims that more than 18,000 pairs have been donated already.
