Clint Eastwood named fave US movie star

Clint Eastwood is America’s favourite movie star, according to an annual poll from Harris Interactive.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Johnny Depp was voted second favourite movie star, with Denzel Washington coming in at third. George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Morgan Freeman, Sandra Bullock, Tom Hanks, and Julia Roberts also made the list.

John Wayne was the only dead movie star to appear in the poll’s top ten.

Oprah Winfrey was named top TV personality in the poll of 2,276 adults.

Late night host Jay Leno ranked as the third most popular TV personality according to the poll, conducted from December 7 through the 14, before NBC announced its plan to rearrange its late night programming, returning Leno to the Tonight Show.
