According to The Daily Beast, Monjack blames the studio for his wife's death. He claims the devastation she felt over losing a role in the Happy Feet sequel caused her to have a heart attack.
Monjack said Warner dropped Murphy from the project because of false reports about her erratic behaviour on the set of the film The Caller, filmed in Puerto Rico.
"Warner Bros relied on conjecture and hearsay about the Puerto Rico film for why they cancelled Brittany's role in Happy Feet," he said.
The cause of Murphy's death has since been deferred pending the results of a toxicology test.
