Former senator Pleasant Bridgewater and paramedic Tarino Lightbourne have been accused of trying to blackmail $25 million from the actor after 16-year-old Jett passed away in January 2009.
A mistrial was declared last October on the grounds of possible juror misconduct.
According to E! Online, a judge has scheduled September 6 as the start date for the retrial. Both defendants previously pleaded not guilty.
It has not been confirmed whether Travolta and wife Kelly Preston will return to the Bahamas to testify for a second time.
The retrial is expected to last about a month.
