The stars, who according to reports are close to splitting, apparently spent their first night together in over a month.
"They would whisper in each other’s ears and laugh. They looked really happy," a source told Us Weekly.
The couple were attending the Directors Guild of America Awards on Saturday.
The insider added that Jolie beamed after Pitt, 46, honoured Inglorious Basterds director Quentin Tarantino.
"He is a joy to work for and he is a joy to work with and if you have happened to have forgotten what you loved about movies in the first place, I tell you, you only have to spend one night with Quentin. Not in that way!"
However, another source claims that Jolie "felt like [Pitt] wasn't pulling his weight".
