The Men In Black star was reportedly picked up by officers from Connecticut State Police Troop B on Friday evening after a burglar alarm sounded at the Litchfield Bancorp on Salisbury Main Street.
A Department of Public Safety statement read: "Troopers were dispatched to the scene and upon their arrival they observed a broken window at the rear of the building. Observed inside the bank was a lone white male walking within the premise.
"Troopers gained entry into the building and immediately confronted the male and took him into custody. He was in possession of a loaded revolver. A search of the male later identified as Elmore Torn"
Torn was charged with first degree burglary, third degree criminal mischief, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, first degree trespassing and possession of a firearm without a permit.
The 78-year-old actor was held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Bantam Superior Court today.
