The Dreamgirls star, who participated in a 3D tribute performance for Michael Jackson at the event, welcomed son David Daniel Otunga with partner David Otunga in August.
Speaking to ET Online, she said: "[Motherhood] is the best thing in the world! He's here, but he's backstage. It's baby David's first Grammys!"
She went on to say that she had shed her baby weight by "walking everyday" and "eating right", saying: "[I] stay focused. It's about being focused."
According to USA Today, the singer also joked that she hoped nobody could hear David crying backstage during the ceremony.
