The title of Ashlee Simpson's upcoming movie has been changed after a woman claimed that she owns the trademark for the word "wannabe".

The movie was supposed to be entitled Wannabe but has now taken the working title of Undiscovered, also the name of one Simpson's songs.

While the company behind the movie, Lion's Gate Films, has not revealed the reason for the change, they have confirmed that they were contacted by Mrs Robin Devine.

Devine claims that the filmmakers were forced to change the title when they failed to come to an agreement over a licence for the word which she has apparently trademarked. She claims that she acquired the trademark 20 years ago when she heard her husband use the expression: "I had never heard anything like that in my life before," she said.

She went on: "The reason they changed the name of the movie was because we couldn't enter into an agreement."

Devine claims that the movie can include the word in spoken form, but it cannot be used on merchandise material without licence, reports the Canadian Press.

Devine reportedly uses the trademark on her own range of stuffed toys.
