The Star Wars actor beat off competition from runner-up Tom Hanks and third place Michael J. Fox to take first in the study.
Jones, who voiced Darth Vader in the iconic sci-fi series, was ranked number one in the poll conducted by Forbes, which rated stars based on perceived public trustworthiness, awareness and appeal.
"A premium was put on likability, reliability and credibility," said Forbes staff writer Lacey Rose about the characteristics Americans typically associate with ideas of trustworthiness.
"The stars on our list tend to be endearing characters on screen and off. With private lives that are kept precisely that, they have earned, and maintained, the respect of their fans," she added.
