Gael Garcia Bernal in paternity rumours

Gael Garcia Bernal has become the subject of internet rumours that he split from girlfriend Delores Fonzi and never fathered 1-year-old son Lazaro.

However, insiders have told People that there is no truth to the allegations.

"It's completely untrue," said a source close to the actor, adding that the Blindness star and his girlfriend "are happy together and they love their son... This is totally made up".

A representative for Bernal confirmed that the online rumours are false.

Last year, Blindness director Fernando Meirelle said of Bernal's attitude to becoming a father: "[He is] so excited... He's really looking forward to it."
