Bassingthwaighte fronts same-sex campaign

Natalie Bassingthwaighte has agreed to front a new campaign to raise awareness about the rights of same-sex couples.

The Australian actress, singer and presenter yesterday joined other celebrities such as Ruby Rose, Kylie Gillies and Richard Reid to promote the Wear It With Pride campaign, which celebrates and raises awareness of new law reforms which positively affect the lives of same-sex couples.

Wearing the campaign's signature t-shirt, Bassingthwaighte told crowds in Sydney yesterday: "I wear this t-shirt with pride because I support equal rights. I want us all to be proud of who we are and respect each other's individuality."

MTV personality Ruby Rose, who is rumoured to be engaged to model Catherine McNeil, added: "These laws affect my relationship, the relationships that my friends have and those of the community."
