The son of Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett, who has been in prison since December for violating his parole on a prior narcotics conviction, will be moved to a clinic under a "justifiably" severe rehabilitation programme.
O'Neal's lawyer argued to an LA judge that his client had made "considerable" progress during his stint in jail and deserved to be placed in a clinic instead of behind bars.
Judge Michael Tynan said that if the 25-year-old's rehab stay is a success, he will be transferred again to a sober-living facility.
