Lopez to play football in Beach Bowl

Jennifer Lopez has signed on to participate in the DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl, according to a release.

Other stars scheduled to participate include Taylor Lautner, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick, Kellan Lutz, Brian McKnight, Michael Clarke Duncan and The Wayans Brothers.

Footballers Eli Manning and Mark Sanchez will coach their respective teams and former NFL players Warren Moon and Rich Gannon will captain. Other former football players expected to suit up include Eddie George, Merril Hoge, Mark Schlererth, Desmond Howard and Daryl Johnston. Sportscaster Dan Patrick will host.

Lopez's appearance will come after a string of recent television appearances including an appearance on How I Met Your Mother and a guest host spot on Lopez Tonight.

The DIRECTV Beach Bowl will take place on Saturday, February 6, in Miami's South Beach.
