The Scottish singer topped the UK chart with debut album This Is The Life nearly three years ago and she is currently preparing for the release of follow-up A Curious Thing.
Reflecting on her time in the spotlight, MacDonald told the Daily Record: "Fans are nuts in Europe and there are a lot of die-hard fans who would do anything for me. I have a few scary stalker stories but try and forget them. I wouldn't want to give them the press coverage, but I do get a bit freaked out.
"The good thing is I am very normal and normal looking. I have no big Amy Winehouse-style beehive to attract attention so I can remain anonymous."
A Curious Thing will be released next month.
