Talk-show host David Letterman has publicly thanked Montana authorities who unravelled an alleged plot to kidnap his son.
"Last week, my family and I were involved in a little legal activity," explained Letterman on his Monday night show, "and fortunately everything turned out fine, but I want to just take a second here to thank some people."
He added that he was grateful to "the great people of Choteau, Montana," where Letterman owns a ranch. "They have always made me and my family feel entirely welcome as though it were our home and that's how we think of it."
Kelly Frank was arrested last week for allegedly plotting to abduct Letterman's son for $5m ransom. Today, Frank pleaded not guilty.
