Rihanna and Jay-Z's record label Def Jam was reportedly forced to shut its New York office last month following an outbreak of bedbugs.

Bosses at Universal Music Group and Island Def Jam allegedly had to call in pest control officers after the parasitic insects were found to have infiltrated the building.

According to the New York Post, three floors were fumigated but the problem soon returned in the offices of celebrity talent agency ICM downstairs.

Staff at the organisation, which represents stars including Megan Fox, Halle Berry and Mickey Rourke, were reportedly told to go home early on February 3.

"We were aware of the issue and it has been resolved on our floors," a representative from Universal Music said.
