Victoria Beckham is leaving Spain and making a permanent return to Britain, "for the sake of her children," according to The People today.

The newspaper claims that Posh wants her sons to be educated in Britain, as she fears for their safety if they go to school in Spain. She is also concerned about the attention that her children receive from the Spanish media.

A source told the newspaper, "Victoria has made her decision about returning to the UK for the sake of her children and their education. She's told David that the children's future and safety is her Number One concern.

"But the truth is she also desperately misses her family back home. It has not been an easy decision to make but they both believe their marriage is strong enough to survive. They both agree the happiness of their children must come first."

A spokesman for David has admitted that Victoria has secured a place for six-year-old Brooklyn in Heath Mount, an exclusive private school in Hertfordshire.

The spokesman denied that Victoria had made a final decision to return to Britain, but added, "If David was to be told in June or July that Real Madrid no longer wanted him the couple would obviously want Brooklyn to go to the best school possible in the UK."
