Alec was taken to hospital earlier this week, although his representative later claimed that it was a "misunderstanding".
"He's great," Stephen told Extra. "Everything's fine... there was nothing weird, nothing stupid."
The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant described the incident as a "miscommunication" and added that his brother is focusing on preparing for the Oscars, which he is hosting with Steve Martin.
"I was talking to him the other night," he explained. "He said, 'You know, Steve Martin and I have been talking about some of the dialogue'."
