The Fox animated comedy featured the character Chris dating a girl with Down's syndrome. Palin's youngest son Trig has the congenital disorder.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee called the episode "another kick in the gut". Palin's daughter Bristol weighed in on her mother's post calling the show's writers "heartless jerks".
In the episode, Chris asked his date what her parents do for a living. She replied: "My dad's an accountant, and my mum is the former governor of Alaska."
Palin resigned as the governor of Alaska last summer. While running for vice president Palin was the target of much media criticism, which Bristol says has forced her to develop a thick skin.
"When you're the son or daughter of a public figure, you have to develop thick skin," Bristol said. "My siblings and I all have that, but insults directed at our youngest brother hurt too much for us to remain silent."
Sarah Palin currently contributes political commentary to the Fox News Channel under a multi-year contract.
