Laverne slams 'band-shirt wearing idiots'

Lauren Laverne has criticised people who wear T-shirts featuring musical acts they have never heard.

The TV presenter and former Kenickie singer told Heat that she preferred to see individuals saying something about themselves with their clothes.

Laverne said: "I like lots of different people's looks for different reasons. Scarlett Johansson is so sexy; Zooey Deschanel is so cool; Vivienne Westwood is completely iconic.

"I like people whose dress sense tells you who they are - not just someone who's been stuck in an outfit they're too dumb to understand.

"I hate it when you see some idiot wearing a Sonic Youth T-shirt because they like the picture and you know they've never heard the band in their lives."
