Lil Wayne recieves eight root canals

Lil Wayne recently underwent eight root canal procedures on Tuesday, according to Us Weekly.

The 27-year-old rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, has said that his trademark jewel-encrusted teeth cost $150,000 (£97,150).

Carter underwent several tooth implants, eight root canals and "had the few real teeth he had left repaired" during the eight-hour procedure.

The rapper currently faces charges on illegally owning a loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun. Carter was due to face sentencing last week but postponed the date for his dental surgery.

He is scheduled to serve a one-year jail term with the possibility of being released after eight months, if he behaves well.

Lil Wayne will now be sentenced on March 2.
