Armstrong 'embarrassed by 911 mishap'

Lance Armstrong has reportedly called emergency services accidentally.

The cycling star, who was with his family in Austin, Texas on Saturday, attempted to call his friend Dave Bolch but instead dialed the wrong number and the authorities arrived at his home minutes later, Contactmusic reports.

Armstrong explained the mishap on his Twitter page, writing: "Cops at house. Someone dialed 911.

"After interrogating the kids we figured out yours truly misdialed [Bolch] whose number starts with 913. Doh!!"
