Son to star in Fawcett documentary

Ryan O'Neal has revealed that he wants his son Redmond's battle with drug addiction to be featured in an upcoming documentary.

The film, which Ryan is currently making, will apparently be about the aftermath of partner Farrah Fawcett's death from cancer last June and Redmond's subsequent prison stint.

In a letter published by Radar magazine outlining his plans for the show, Ryan writes: "We plan to focus on three main areas of her legacy: her art - namely her films and her sculptures - her inspirational battle with cancer; and the light of her life, our son Redmond, who is now fighting to reclaim himself in honour of his mother."

Ryan described the documentary as including "an original, never-aired 2005 interview with never-before-seen footage from our private collection of home movies".

Both Ryan and Redmond were arrested together for drug possession in 2007. While Ryan was sentenced to 18 months of addiction counselling, Redmond was handed a jail sentence.
