Derek Hough dad: 'He's not like Ashley'

The father of Cheryl Cole's friend Derek Hough has insisted that his son is nothing like the star's estranged husband Ashley.

Hough, best known as a professional on Dancing With The Stars, recently spent time with the X Factor judge in Los Angeles following allegations that Ashley had been unfaithful.

Girls Aloud singer Cheryl has since returned to the UK and announced her decision to dump the footballer after three years of marriage.

Speaking to The Mirror about Hough, the dancer's dad Bruce commented: "My boy treats girls right."

He continued: "It's terrible how some stars carry on. Look at Tiger Woods. These guys do not know how to behave.

"Derek is a responsible guy. He's enjoyed spending time with Cheryl. It's clear they get on really great."

Earlier this week, reports suggested that Hough had spent seven hours comforting Cheryl in her LA hotel room on Sunday night.
