Atkinson worries over "bimbo" label

Gemma Atkinson has admitted that she worries about being regarded as a "bimbo" following her appearances in lads' magazines.

The actress, who is currently appearing in a touring production of Calendar Girls, told Take 5 that she plans to never strip off for photoshoots again because she wants to be taken more seriously.

Atkinson explained: "I made the decision to stop modelling a year ago. I did my calendar last year and that's out now - but it's the last one.

"I haven't done any more lads' mags, which is difficult because financially it's got me through four years - but it's not something I enjoyed doing."

Asked whether she ever experiences negativity due to her modelling past, the 25-year-old replied: "When I met the other actresses for Calendar Girls I was panicking because I thought they would have preconceptions of me. Thankfully they didn't.

"I'm completely different to how I come across in lads' mags but I worry people think I'm a bimbo."

Atkinson is currently dating Liam Richards, who was part of martial arts duo Strike on Britain's Got Talent.
