The 'Cowboy Casanova' star and NHL player Fisher, who became engaged just before Christmas, are often kept apart by her busy touring schedule and his commitments to the Ottawa Senators.
Speaking to People, the country singer joked: "Leave it to me to pick someone in another country to date - and marry! But if it's worth it, you make it work, right?"
She continued to say that following the wedding they will "be little nomads for a while, until one of us retires", but claimed: "Not being in the same room won't lessen our relationship. We completely have faith in each other."
Fisher added:"We make the best of our time when we are together."
