Pattinson laughs off vagina allergy remark

Robert Pattinson has reportedly laughed off his recent comment that he is "allergic" to vaginas, insisting that it was meant as a joke.

The Twilight star posed alongside a group of naked female models for the new issue of Details magazine and was quoted as saying that he "was not prepared" for the nudity.

However, speaking to Access Hollywood, the actor insisted that the allergy remarks had been meant as a joke.

"I was just talking about this earlier. I was just saying like I had two lessons, don't try and make jokes in interviews and then the second one is like, just don't do interviews at all," he explained.

"Don't talk about vaginas, people are very sensitive about them... It's so funny... The whole story was because I thought people would be offended by the photos, and then they get offended by the little jokey explanation of it… I don't know, the world's a weird place."

Pattinson can next be seen opposite Emilie de Ravin in the romantic drama Remember Me, which arrives in cinemas next month.
