According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Walter and Judith Koenig have received hundreds of emails and letters from fans of their son.
The former Growing Pains actor - who was apparently suffering from depression - committed suicide last week after going missing in Vancouver.
Fellow stars of the 1980s TV show paid tribute to Koenig, including Alan Thicke, Kirk Cameron and Tracy Gold.
