Ronan Keating has said that he and the rest of Boyzone like to talk about their recently-deceased bandmate Stephen Gately.

The singer suggested to New that the group better appreciate life and their time with each other since Gately passed away last October.

Keating said: "You realise how short and fragile life is. Our time together is precious. And we feel Steo is in the room when the four of us are together.

"We enjoy talking about him. You try and put one foot in front of the other and try not to think that the world is a terrible place."

Fellow Boyzone star Shane Lynch added: "The busier we are, the more opportunity we have for a break from the grieving process, which helps you get better.

"But, when you least expect it, a wave of emotion comes over you and completely annihilates you and you cry your eyes out."

Boyzone released comeback single 'Gave It All Away', which features Gately's vocals, yesterday.
