Friel denies Cross relationship rumours

Anna Friel has brushed aside suggestions that she is having a romance with Joseph Cross.

The actress had been linked to her 23-year-old Breakfast At Tiffany's co-star, despite her long-standing relationship with actor David Thewlis.

Friel told InStyle of Cross: "He's a person I'm very close to. I worked with him every day for six months - he's so dear to me. He's my wonderful friend and co-star.

"He gave me a kiss and was, like, 'Hello, darling' and they made a story about it. I'm very tactile. They always manipulate things - they once took a picture of me with my brother and ran a story about 'Anna Friel’s mystery man'."

The 33-year-old added of her relationship with Thewlis: "He's 13 years older than me. We have our own separate properties and we're not married. He's never asked me.

"No way does a woman ask a man. I know some people do but I couldn't... I'm too old-fashioned for that."
