The two popular and well-known chefs penned a three-year deal with the supermarket chain, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Smith and Blumenthal, who will also appear on billboards and magazine adverts, are the first celebrities to ever be used by the company.
"We're not spending obscene amounts on some celebrity to turn up and be in our adverts as others have done. This is about two people who genuinely share our passion for food and who shop with us," said Waitrose's commercial director Richard Hodgson.
In total, the pair will film 40 adverts, which will air between now and January 2011. Each commercial will run for an entire length of an ad break and feature the cooks, sometimes together, demonstrating a new recipe.
Hodgson added that the chain has reached a good deal with broadcasters, joking: "After all, ITV are getting a mini Delia Smith show in primetime."
