The Catch 22 rapper, who funded his first album through sales of his own brand of T-shirts, highlighted the need to understand finance from an early age.
"Managing money and finances is really important. If you're not aware of it from a certain stage in your life, it's going to affect you," he told BBC Newsbeat.
"When I was at school, no-one really spoke about it to me. Once you have an idea or a vision it's always important to save money, from the smallest amount to the biggest.
"If I can explain to them how I did it and they can relate to it, that's good for me."
Stryder previously revealed that he struggled to balance his university workload while also making music.
