The couple, who have a 7-month-old son together, got engaged in 2008.
"We've picked a date," Otunga told Life & Style. "And Jennifer has chosen her dress, but she won't tell me much about that, obviously."
Otunga added that the pair have enlisted Neil Lane to design their wedding rings and joked: "I want my son and I to wear matching custom tuxedos!"
He also revealed that he would be happy to invite some of Hudson's former American Idol co-stars to the ceremony.
"It would be great if any of the former American Idols sang at the wedding," he said. "And it would be wonderful to have Jennifer sing - I'd love that."
