The Antiques Roadshow presenter said that the issue is her "biggest concern" as a feminist.
Bruce, who is married to media executive Nigel Sharrocks and has two children, told The Daily Telegraph: "I work in a lookist industry being in television but there seems to be so many overtly sexual images of women now and it puts so much pressure on young girls."
The newsreader added: "Whatever happened to the top shelf in newsagents? Whenever I go into my corner shop now there are just breasts everywhere. Maybe I'm just old but I definitely think it's a huge problem."
Bruce recently acknowledged that there is a double standard concerning the appearance of male and female newsreaders, going on to say: "If you look like the back end of the bus, as a woman you won't get the job. If you look like the back end of a bus as a bloke, you might get the job. 'Twas ever thus, and I can't see it changing in my lifetime."
