The Precious star, who has been nominated for 'Best Supporting Actress', explained that she believes it is too presumptuous to prepare something to say.
According to The Mirror, she said: "Have I prepared a speech for Sunday? No. [It's] because I think the universe would say, 'You have a lot of nerve!'"
She added that she is "rooting for" everybody, explaining: "It's a beautiful thing to get to that place so everybody that walks that carpet gets my vote."
The 2010 Academy Awards kick off tonight at 5pm PT/8pm ET on ABC in the US and from 1am on Sky Movies Premiere in the UK.
