Corey Haim 'suffered flu-like symptoms'

Corey Haim's mother has revealed that he suffered from flu-like symptoms for several days before dying at her home.

According to People, the former child-star rose from bed around midnight last night and was very dizzy.

"Some time after midnight, he got up, he was dizzy and unsteady on his feet and knelt down," LA County Coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter explained. "His mum helped him to a bed and he became unresponsive in about a minute or so. She dialled 911 and he was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 2.15am."

The actor had been staying at his mother's house to take care of her as she battled cancer.

"I am a cancer victim and Corey was helping me at home. He was a good boy. I'm devastated by his death," Judy Haim said.

A neighbour has claimed that he thought that the Lost Boys star was turning a corner in his life.

"I saw him a few days ago with [his] mum by the pool," he insisted. "He was humble but inspirational to the actors around here. He was getting himself together."
