Corey Haim's agent has said that he doubts that the actor died from an overdose.

News of the Lost Boys star's sudden death on Tuesday spread quickly and many media sources speculated that it was due to an accidental drug overdose. The actor had battled substance abuse in the past.

"I really don't think it was an overdose," Haim's agent Mark Heaslip told People. "He was doing really well. He did struggle with substance abuse, but I've repped him for a year and a half and part of my agreement with him was that he had to be clean. That was the number one priority."

Haim's mother has claimed that in the hours leading up to her son's death, he had been experiencing flu-like symptoms and a fever.

"It was 99 degrees and it jumped up to 101," Heaslip said. "We had his doctor come over and take his temperature. She said he actually looked very good."

He claimed that Haim's mother woke to find her son collapsed, at which time she called for an ambulance.

The 38-year-old actor was pronounced dead before he reached the hospital.
