On Wednesday, the actress was leaving a Starbucks in Santa Monica, California, when a fellow patron noticed that her parking meter was about to expire.
The stranger quickly slipped some coins into the meter, saving the star from a potential parking ticket.
Zellweger thanked the man with a $100 Starbucks gift card and a note.
"Wow," the note read. "Thank you so much for the kindness. Warmly, with gratitude, Renée!"
Zellweger recently completed work on the upcoming film My Own Love Song, directed by Olivier Dahan.
