Haim 'dating reality star at his death'

Daisy de la Hoya and Corey Haim were dating at the time of the actor's death, a friend of the reality star has claimed.

The former Daisy of Love star was introduced to the Lost Boys actor shortly before he died. Although the relationship was new, De la Hoya said that she was devastated when she heard the news.

"I'm sooooooo devastated right now," de la Hoya wrote on her Twitter page, according to E Online. "This is the worst day ever I can't believe this."

A source close to De la Hoya claimed that the 27-year-old had always had a crush on Haim and hoped to help him with his substance abuse problems.

"Daisy knew Corey was doing a lot of drugs - especially prescription meds," a source said. "She always had a crush on Corey ... She thought he was kind and talented, and she wanted to rescue him."

Corey Haim, 38, collapsed early Tuesday morning, alleged to be from a drug overdose - a claim which friends and family deny.
