The comedian left NBC earlier this year after the network decided to move his late-night show to make room for Jay Leno.
He has now announced on Twitter that he will take his comedy show around the country.
"I'm headed to your town on a half-assed comedy & music tour," he wrote. "I repeat: It's half-assed."
TMZ reports that the show will be called 'The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television Tour', while O'Brien has reportedly promised "a night of music, comedy, hugging and the occasional awkward silence".
O'Brien later posted on the social networking site that his website has crashed from fans attempting to buy tickets.
The show, which will kick off in Oregon on April 12, will visit 30 cities in total.
