Nicole Eggert reflects on Haim romance

Nicole Eggert has reportedly paid tribute to former co-star and ex-boyfriend Corey Haim, saying she "loved him dearly".

The Lost Boys actor passed away on Wednesday. An autopsy has reportedly suggested that he suffered from pulmonary congestion.

Speaking to Access Hollywood's Maria Menonous, Eggert explained that she met Haim when they were both around 14 years old, and they soon became engaged.

"We were underage. I was under 17," she said. "It's funny to me now in hindsight because we wouldn't have been allowed to be married... we loved each other dearly."

She continued to say that they remained friends after their split, adding: "We were friends always. I don't think that the friendship stops."

Eggert added that she had not spoken to Haim for a "year or two", saying: "The last time I spoke with Corey was, he wanted me to get involved with the show, The Two Coreys."

Haim will reportedly be buried in his native Toronto.
