Sara Cox welcomes new baby daughter

Sara Cox has given birth to a baby girl.

The Radio 1 DJ welcomed Renee this morning, Newsbeat reports. Both the mother and baby are said to be doing well.

Writing on Twitter, Cox said: "Hi y'all, we had a beautiful baby girl at 8.30 this morning. She's called Renee. So happy xxx."

Showbiz reporter Matt Edmonson will cover Cox's radio shows while she is on maternity leave.

Renee is Cox's third child. She already has a 5-year-old daughter, Lola, and a 2-year-old son, Isaac.
