An American man has been arrested after allegedly posting a death threat against Elton John online.

The Mirror reports that Atlanta police sergeant Curtis Davenport has confirmed that Neal Horsley was arrested in Carrollton, GA.

Sergeant Davenport refused to say whom Horsley is accused of threatening. However, Horsley's son Nathan believes that the arrest is in connection to a video his father posted online.

In the YouTube clip, Horsley criticised John's recent admission that he thinks Jesus was gay.

Horsley is reportedly being held in the Fulton County Jail on $40,000 (£26,000) bond.

John's publicist declined to comment.
