The socialite-turned-fashion designer, who has been dating TV producer David Katzenberg since 2006, quashed rumours in 2008 that marriage was on the cards.
The proposal would come two years after her marriage to businessman Todd Andrew Meister was annulled shortly following their Las Vegas wedding.
A source told the New York Post: "Obviously, David would never propose around Oscar-time. But now that awards season is over, everyone thinks he'll ask her soon."
