According to TMZ, the rapper - real name Earl Simmons - admitted to breaking the conditions of his suspended jail time by taking illegal narcotics on five separate occasions.
During the hearing, a representative for the Pasadena Recovery Centre gave the judge a letter from Dr Drew Pinsky, requesting permission to treat the star at his facility instead of imprisoning him.
The website claims that the judge appeared open to the proposal.
Last year, the 39-year-old was given a 90-day prison term for drugs, theft and animal cruelty charges. He was also ordered to pay $240,000 (£161,023) after being caught impersonating an FBI agent.
